Reader Q&A, design huddles, 2 things I bookmarked, & 2 things I think you'll like
I've added a new section with tailored advice to your challenges & skill goals. Here is the link for the tool I shared in my TikTok live. Seniors & Leads there are still Design Huddle slots available
Hey design enthusiasts,
I hope you’re ready to survive another week. This week I’m co-facilitating a 4-hour long CMBAT statement workshop and facilitating a journey-based design review that cuts across 3 different departments 😬 😮💨 wish me luck!
But most excitingly… this week I kick off Design Huddles!! The junior & mid-level Design Huddles are all sold out but there are still slots available:
For Senior Designers - Mon, Sep 02 6:00PM (CEST) / 9:00AM (PDT)
For Design Managers / Lead Designers - Thu, Sep 05 7:00PM (CEST) / 10:00AM (PDT)

Reader Q&A:
You shared your career challenges and skill-building goals in my reader survey. In this new section, I'll provide tailored advice and resources based on what you wrote.
Your challenge:
“Not involving real users, just assuming most cases and passively waiting for the result after releasing the product”
It sounds like you’re in a place with low UX maturity. Bummer 🫤 I think all designers face this at one point or another. I know I did; particularly when I was working at a design agency. If your company/team isn’t giving you time to test with real users, I suggest checking out a tool like Attention Insight or Synthetic Users. These would let you work with predictive AI to get more instant insights. Now, if it’s a budget-based decision or they just don’t care that much, the first thing I would do (and have done in the past) is incorporate “feedback loops” into the UX. Maybe it’s a SUS measurement at the end of a task or an interstitial that collects qualitative input that you can run a sentiment analysis on. Ok, but then what? I would be using the insights I collected to propose improved product changes. If you can’t get the right UX methods before it goes live maybe you can influence the roadmap and still improve the experience for your users.
I hope you find this helpful 💛
